We stayed at Movieland on Itl Dr from 23/10 - 7/11 and had a fantastic time, the room was very spacious and clean, daily make up of beds and change of towels, tea and coffee etc. We booked through Alpha Rooms who were very good, they advised us prior to departure that there would be some ongoing works in the hotel - renovating - these didn't cause us any disturbance at all - the only disturbance we had were a couple arguing on our last night there who kept us awake. Checking into the hotel was very straight forward, remember to ask for a safe key when checking in.
The only drawback was that there wasn't a bar, but there is the George and Dragon accross the road where you will get a warm welcome and great service. Would definately use this hotel again this was our 3rd year on Intl Dr, and had a bad experience last year a Quality Inn Intl, but this year was loads better.
Would definately recommend the following for eats: Dairyqueen for ice cream - it is fantastic!!! Lighthouse Lobster Feast - Snow crab is really good, Great Western Buffet (next to dairy queen and hotel) all you can eat for $9.95, Ponderosa for Breakfast and Dinner - Hubbie had a great steak - Mels diner, Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville at Universal are good for the shakes food and cocktails, Bennigans - Great service, friendly staff, there are just too many to list - would avoid the Butchers Block - toilets are disgusting.
