Maternal Connections is located behind El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. It is a great resource for breast feeding moms as they have scales where you can weigh your new born and make sure he or she is gaining weight on a daily or weekly basis. They also have an area where you can breastfeed your baby and weigh them both before and after to see how much the baby is getting. They also have trained nurses who you can book an appointment with to discuss any lactation issues or problems that you may have. You have to pay for this service but you get 1-2 hours with the nurse where you can breast feed your baby and they can help you with tips and techniques if you are struggling with the breastfeeding. The store has tons of items for breastfeeding mothers from bras, nursing gowns and nursing tops and blouses to breast milk bags and storage systems. They also rent hospital grade pumps that can be rented weekly or monthly - I recommend these pumps over the ones you can buy at Babies R Us as they are much stronger - and if you are having trouble breastfeeding this is what I recommend using. They also have a group that meets every Tuesday where moms can meet other breastfeeding mother and share advice or concerns. It is a great service and I highly recommend you check it out- even if you are not breastfeeding it is a great place to go and weigh your baby to see how he or she is progressing. Hours: Monday - Saturday | 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Closed Sundays
