First off, my apologies for not having the best info on this BBQ restaurant/stand. I'm posting it here in hopes that some other people know about it, and can give more info on the address.
Let the goose chase begin:)
Lots of character in this BBQ stand on the corner of a busy intersection. We were looking for someplace to stop after driving around the Tulip Fields in Skagit county this past summer and stumbled onto this place.
Park in the gravel lot out front and find a space on the wooden picnic benches inside. Not the best ventilated spot on a hot summer day, but after you get your food, there is nothing to complain about.
After talking to the friendly counter help, we found out that the guy toiling over the cast iron smokers outside is the owner. "He don't do beef ribs, cause they don't taste as good as pork." After that visit, I agree.
Even if you're not a fan of "the other white meat" the baked beans are worth it. I ate the side of beans that comes with the meal and had to fight with my girlfriend over the additional serving that we bought to take home.
My favorite anecdote about the place was when we sent my girlfriend to the counter in hopes of acquiring the chef's recipe for the beans and bbq. Of course, any BBQ recipe is the product of 19 generations of secret ingredients, spices, and a special procedure tied to the phase of the moon ... but it was fun to see her try and crack the code :)
Please add to this review with more info on the restaurant's location, or for those of you who work with me, stop by and I'll try to explain where it is.
