Review content:
When my daughter was a toddler she had a very bad experience with a dentist. After that day she no longer wanted to ever have to see one. We're talking screaming/crying at the thought of getting her teeth cleaned.
I looked around hoping to find a pediatric dentist that would alleve her fears and provide expert service. MetroPeds was recommended to me by a friend who's son had extensive dental work done before the age of 8. She told me that they care for the kids, don't talk down to them, and treat the parents with respect also.
My daughter adores her dentist now. The office is what you would expect of a pediatric office - toys, Ranger Rick magazines, huge fish tank. However, when you go back to the chairs it's a different story. There is a "parent gallery" where us grown ups can see what is going on (and your child can be reassured that you are there) before the open exam room. The exam room is very cheerful - posters, artwork, toys. Kids can see whats going on in the chair next to them (which my daughter says is "Cool"). When you see the dentist you see the same hygenist every time which is appreciated. No fear of the unknown after the first visit.
My daughter has already undergone quite a bit of dental work and has done so with flying colors. The dentist is very clear to not only the child but to the parent about what needs to be done and why. I truly appreciate this office.
Note: They have opened an adjoining office for cleaning only. It's set up like a more traditional office, but for older children and children without fear it's not a big deal.
