A friend of mine suggested that I got get my hair cut at Astor Place while I was visiting NYC, recommending it as cheap and a cool place to visit.
My hair is very thick and curly, and I had some reservations about getting a cut from someone who'd never worked with it before. I shouldn't have worried. My stylist Mercedes took my very vague descriptions of what I wanted done, and chopped my mane into an adorable little pixy cut that I absolutely love. Mercedes is a talented stylist and a wonderfully engaging person. I walked out of Astor Place Hair Designers with a $20 dollar haircut that I adore and a new friend!
Pros: very friendly people, great atmosphere, love my haircut
