Ok- this place is really far west, but very well worth the trip. I was initially disappointed upon entering and realizing I would not be able to get the dirty martini I'd been craving all day (the place has wine & beer only), but the bartender quickly swooped over and after asking me a few questions about what type of wine I like, produced a sample to taste that was spot on. The menu wasn't so large as to be overwhelming, but I still had a difficult time choosing what to eat--- nothing terribly inventive, but a lot of interesting options. I finally ended up with the filet topped with gorgonzola, which was prepared to medium rare perfection-- a rarity these days (no pun intended). The meat itself was a great cut and the gorgonzola on top was used sparingly, but pervasive enough to infiltrate my every bite. The whole (varied) group I was with was quite happy with their selections as well. I would highly recommend Crave on 42nd! Pros: good for groups, excellent food Cons: wine & beer only; very far west
