Review content:
My husband and I decided to go to Pebbles for dinner after shopping at the Prime Outlet mall. Originally, we wanted to go to Bahama Breeze, but when I called to be put on the call ahead list, they quoted me about 1 hour, then it would probably be another 1/2 hour once we arrived. Sorry. We were very hungry and had other plans for later in the evening.
I decided to call Pebbles since they're in the Entertainment book, and seemed to offer a similar ambiance (Caribbean). To my surprise there was no wait! (how could this be when Bahama Breeze, which was right across the highway was packed?) Immediately my husband said, "That doesn't sound good!" Unfortunately we went anyway. The restaurant was nearly empty. We should have taken the hint and left! But we were hungry and already there.
I ordered the conch chowder...but I don't think I could have even picked out the conch. I guess they were in there somewhere. My husband thought the soup came right from a can...and they just upped the charge to $5. What a rip-off!
The entrées were ok, but very bland. We asked for some hot sauce which rescued the dish...but for that I could have picked up something from the deli and saved some $. Luckily we had the by-one-get-one coupon. Even so, it was still to much to pay for such mediocre food. At least the server was nice...and the restaurant seemed clean. But isn't that expected anyway? I hope we just went on an off-day, and that the restaurant is good. Perhaps some one has had a good experience there?
