Businiess name:  Southpark Cinemas-See Regal Cinemas-Southpark Mall 6
Review by:  Jeanette S.
Review content:
If you live in Colonial Heights, the only movie theater in the city is at Southpark Mall. While they get the most recent "blockbuster" releases, they aren't exactly my first choice when I want to take in a movie for a few reasons: 1) I don't like to fight with mall traffic just to see a film. For whatever reason, the movie side of the mall is also the busiest. If you take in a movie at night, you have no other choice but to part on that side or else risk the chance of having to walk around the entire parking lot to get to your car once the mall closes. There's just too much traffic and not enough parking spaces on that side. 2) The floors and bathrooms are notoriously filthy. The floors I can understand ~ people spill soda or popcorn or whatnot during a show and there is no time between viewings to clean up. But the bathrooms? Why is that so difficult to keep clean? 3) Several times when I've seen movies there (most recently with Fantasic 4), there have been difficulties with the film that forced it to either begin late or end early. Doesn't anyone check the film & projector before the first showing to make sure it'll run properly? On a positive note, at least you have a food court nearby, so you can eat a quick lunch before taking in a movie. The theater box office opens only 15 minutes before the first show of the day, though, so make sure you're there in enough time to stand in the line. Even with big hits like Star Wars or Harry Potter, they only seem able to open one cashier at a time.
