Review content:
Arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday night after late flight . We were exhausted and couldn't be bothered to put on coats, gloves, etc to brave the weather. This was inside the hotel. The place was pretty much empty, not surprising as it was mid-week and January.
Yet, per the host, the only table available was the one immediately adjacent to another couple. By immediately adjacent, I mean so close I could smell the guy's aftershave. It was a first date; we know because we heard every word. They were adorable.
We were surrounded by empty tables. There was no reason for us to be jammed together. The place was empty. But, when we requested one of those many empty tables, the host claimed they were all reserved by after-theater diners. I had to refrain from asking which version of reality he was logged into. Again, it was a Wednesday night in January and, oh, right, we're in the midst of a recession.
It took over 20 minutes for a waitress to take our order, another 30 before our entrees arrived. The rolls were rock hard and could have served as lacrosse balls. They'd clearly been over-microwaved but were lukewarm. The butter was frozen.
Entrees, when they finally arrived, were decent but nothing special. Service was distracted and haphazard.
As for the after-theater rush - that consisted of three guys who came in at 11 for drinks.
It's New York, there are hundreds of great restaurants, many within 1 block. Don't bother with this one.
Pros: inside hotel
Cons: too numerous to list
