I needed to buy a kite from this store for a birthday present and I called the store to find out their business hours. I was told that they operated from 10am to 6pm on the weekdays. So on Tuesday I went there at 11.45am and the store was closed with a sign saying that he would be back in 15 minutes. 1 hour later I was still waiting and decided to give up. I called again to let him know this and he rudely stated that he would be there from 10am to 6pm the next day. I decided to go out of my way on Wednesday morning at 10am before my daughter doctors appointment to get the kite. At 10.30am, I and other people were still waiting outside (in the stinking heat) for the store to open. i had to give up to make it to my daughters appointment on time. I was really upset because not only didn't he keep his opening hours that he had stated, but I had stood out in the blistering heat with my 6 month old daughter for 1/2 hour waiting for this lazy and rude man. When I aired my views to him via a telephone call, he didn't care. To get the kite I wanted I ordered through the manufacturer that actually makes them and he knew of this business. He told me that he refuses to have any more business dealings with the owner of Chicago Kite because of how lazy and incompetent in running his business and business hours he keeps. The manufacturer also stated that other businesses avoided dealing with this business if they could. I suggest looking elsewhere for your kite needs like the manufacturers listed in the Yellow Pages.
