My two goldendoodle pups (1 yr. & 10 mos.) are groomed every other week, and have been since they were 3 months old. This summer, while we were in Sandwich, we had the most AWFUL experience with this groomer. Not only did the groomer injure my dogs, but also she didn't fulfill the services I requested, or finish the job in a timely manner. I had an appointment for 10:30AM and received one dog at 5:30pm, and the one most mismanaged after 7PM. My Goldendoodles are a long-haired breed (my male is wavy and my female has tight curls). My specific instructions were for the groomer to give the dogs a long-haired trim, shorten their beards, clean their ears & clip their nails and NOT touch their legs. I was appalled when I returned to pick up my dogs! The groomer shaved my female to the skin over her ENTIRE body INCLUDING her legs, and left her very ragged - "horrible" doesn't describe it. Both dogs were shaved completely to the skin around their genitals. Truly bizzar. My male, while not bodily shaved, had blood wounds on his chest; one about the size of a 50cent piece and heart shaped - like he had been branded. I have pictures of both pups, pre and post this experience. When I asked why my female was shaved, I was told that she had lots of mats. The groomer did mention to me that my curly female had mats, and I agreed that the mats (implied "few") should be cut out, but never in my wildest dreams thought that translated into shaving her to her skin. Neither had their ears cleaned or their nails clipped; standard grooming procedure. What she did to my dogs was cruel. My female was so destressed from the shaving that she hid under a bookcase for a day, taking food only by hand. I would NOT recommend this groomer to anyone.
