It's a shame that a lot of people who decide to use this forum are mostly uninformed whiners who love to complain about what a terrible job everyone else is doing. It also seems that they don't assume ANY responsibility when something does go wrong. I'm not trying to stick up for any particular pet store, but there are always 2 sides to every story. Most people don't have a clue about proper animal care and all the things that CAN AND DO happen, WITHOUT human negligence. Private breeders, hobby breeders and backyard breeders are no better than anyone else. In fact, they are more likely to be less knowledgeable and less prepared than LICENSED breeders. Most breeders are not licensed. Even if they tout fancy registrations or champion dogs, it doesn't mean they are licensed, and I don't mean a kennel license. Really, people need to have a clue before shooting their mouth off and thinking they are so much better or would be able to do any better. And to you Michelle, you are wrong, along with so many other people... You can't just assume or believe that all pet store pups come from mills or are brokered. That just proves your ignorance and prejudice. Why not do some homework and then find something else to cry about. Hey, let's talk about that nice hamburger you had, or that steak, or that piece of chicken you ate. Guess the procreation of animals for your personal consumption doesn't bother you, huh?
