I would have to say that this is one of the better South Bay public golf courses. Poses a good challenge for all levels of golfers and is under $50!! I paid a non-resident fee of $43 for all-you-can golf walking. Apparently if you are a resident of Santa Clara your greens fee is about half. If I could do my round over again I would have to say a cart is necessary. This course is really really long. Granted that my friends and I played from the Pro Green Tees and it was 97 degrees that day, the course distance and slightly hilly terrain made me winded by the back 9. Hazards are very well architected into the course and several dogleg holes pose tight challenges. Fairways and greens are maintained very well. If you're tired of playing mediocre 9-hole courses or have a friend visiting from out of town, I would definitely recommend this casual course. Only bad thing is that on certain days, the pace on the course is very slow. It took us 6 hours to complete a round of 18.
