Pretty much a local institution, Green Apple Books has been operating in San Francisco for over 38 years. They buy, sell, and trade new and used books, CDs, and DVDs and they offer a carefully chosen selection of new and used books. You can even do a search online for used books. They also have a wide selection of magazines. Prices are reasonable. Good place to find rare book and collectibles.
