Review content:
We called the guys at Kirchner Tree Service when a 150 year old oak tree fell down during Hurricane Isabel. Actually, we called a lot of tree services, but they were one of the few who called back and who came out to give us an estimate for the tree to be removed. They also gave us the best estimate, so we ended up using them.
The team they sent out did a fantastic job. This was no small task—the tree was taller on its side that our house is, with a trunk that was about four feet across. I felt a bit bad because I suspect the job ended up being bigger than they had anticipated, but they stayed with their estimate rather than charging us more (especially nice since we had a FEMA grant to cover the cost, but we only got a grant based on the original estimate) and were professional and friendly as well. It took two days to completely remove the tree, but they carted off all of it (except for some we asked them to leave for firewood), down to the last pile of sawdust with minimal damage to our lawn.
