First I have been a member at this location since before I went to Iraq in 2003. In January of this year I had my wife join. The first time we went she forgot her Ipod in the player. We immediately called and they said they checked but it wasn’t there. I would expect them to check the room when they are cleaning it, for personal items people might leave behind, evidently they don’t. The workers seem friendly but you can often tell that it is very fake. I have had to call to report the beds being dirty, or rather hairy. After my wife and I got back from Hawaii in April my wife went to Sun Club’s online site to cancel her membership, it is almost summer and we are plenty tanned. Their cancellation policy is unfair but oh well, we knew what it was when we signed up so I can’t complain about that. What put me over the edge is that a month and a half after she cancelled her membership on their website (which included a confirmation email from Sun Club) we got charged again. She immediately call and has been getting the run around. She has left multiple messages with the attendant at the Brea store to have the owner/manager call he back. Last night she called at about 5pm, the attendant said the owner had just gone into tan, but would have her call my wife when she got out. She never did, so my wife called back at 5:45, the owner had left and the attendant had forgotten to tell her. My wife was told that the attendant would call the owner and be receiving a call back. It 10am the next day and no call was received. We are contesting the charge and will probably never hear from Sun Club. I am now cancelling my account (if I can figure out how since there website cancellation obviously doesn’t count) and will probably still be getting charged a couple months from now. If you go here, which I suggest you don’t, I wish you luck in getting out of your membership.
