Review content:
After quite a few horrible experiences with one obstetrician after another and five miscarriages, I struck gold when I stumbled upon this practice.
I researched and called several high risk specialists in the Raleigh area and the receptionist who answered the phone was not only THE ONLY ONE who was courteous, but she explained everything to me (without my asking) about what to expect at Kamm McKenzie.
My first appointment was so thorough (included a one-hour interview where I was asked more questions about myself and my history with pregnancies than with all previous practices combined). After the one hour interview, Dr. Harden met with me to discuss some of my past issues with pregnancy and apologized to me for all those before him who did not do what could and should have been done to prevent my last miscarriages.
I was so overwhelmed that I actually started balling my eyes out because I felt like, for the first time, someone was actually listening and they literally told me what they could do to help me. I left that initial appointment feeling empowered.
Turns out I have an incompetent cervix (something I did not know). At 12 weeks, I was given a cerclage. At 16 weeks I was started on weekly progesterone shots to help me carry to term.
Today I am 34 weeks pregnant and I thank God for leading me to competent, caring, thorough practitioners. I would recommend this practice to any person who is seeking professionalism and a caring staff. The nurses know me by name and do not treat me like a number. Because of their commitment to patient care, my husband and I are expecting our first son!
