My sister and I had been looking for several months trying to locate the perfect bridesmaid dresses. We finally decided on a dress at the Bridal Shop in Orange Park. Four out of 6 of of the girls were measured, and the ladies working at the shop had no clue what sizes they should be in. There is only one potentially plus sized girl in the group, and 3 of the girls measured into plus sizes. They said one girl who is 90 pounds bigger than another should be in only 1 size larger than a much smaller girl. It took us going in 3 different times talking to them about the incorrect sizes, and they never agreed on what was the right size for each girl.
They were not up front that it would be an additonal $30 charge for plus sizes. Didn't tell the girls they would be paying extra and wanted my sister to tell her bridesmaids the news. Needless to say, my sister didn't think this was her responsibility. My sister was so distraught over the lack of service, confusion, and unprofessionalism that she went back to get the deposits back. Two of the girls had paid for dresses in full, and one had placed a deposit. However, no order had been placed, and not all of the girls had been measured.
When we spoke with the owner about getting the deposits back, when no service had been rendered, and no dress was ordered or received, she refused. She said it would be a $60 cancellation fee for EACH DRESS! She said it was because of the book-keeping and they have to keep the file for 5 years and some nonense. She said the sign on her desk clearly said no refunds, and we said but that is when the order is placed and ours hasn't even been placed yet.
We even offered to transfer the money being spent on the dresses to invitations and shoes, and she also refused. So, in the end we received NO dress, no service was offered and several bridemaids lost half of the money they paid on their dresses for NO REASON!!
This shop is the WORST and I would NEVER purchase anything from them!! They will NEVER own up to their mistakes and they WON"T make it right when they screw up. The absolute WORST experience.
