Review content:
I was first turned on to Buca by my sister who went there for a friend's birthday. I can't thank her enough. I have been to the one in Kentlands as well as the one near my university in Exton, PA.
I agree that the wait is sometimes long, but the food at Buca is well worth it. Obviously the wait will tell you that much. It is immigrant Italian food, not the commercialized food that many Americans think of when they think Italian. It's no Olive Garden. Every time I've been there we've had a very personable and friendly waiter and the food has surpassed my expectations.
The atmosphere is very entertaining. There are thousands upon thousands of photos on the walls and you are invited to walk around and look at them all.
Regarding price - it's really not that expensive for Italian food... Plus, it is served "Family Style" which means you can get a small (feeds 2 or more) or a large (feeds 4 or more) and they have recently even added single portions to their menu. For the most part, smalls average around $17 and larges average about $26. Really not bad when you consider it'll feed the whole gang. Last time I went, two of my friends and I got a small macaroni rosa (let me just say - AMAZING), small garlic mashed potatoes, a loaf of house bread (free) and drinks for around $32. Last time I checked $11 entrees would fall more under an average category than an overly expensive one.
Side note: I've never had the pizza, but who goes out to a nice, sit-down, Immigrant Italian restaurant to eat pizza? If you want cheap pizza, go to Ledos or Pizza Hut.
I'd certainly recommend it (and I can't say it enough) you will not regret going!
