Businiess name:  Golf Club At Newcastle the
Review by:  G B.
Review content:
I have played golf at Newcastle many times (both Coal Creek and China Creek) and have eaten at the restaurant many times as well. The views from Newcastle are as good as it gets. The club house is also top notch in all respects. The courses are well kept and challenging with a reasonable pace of play. The greens fees are a bit high by comparison for the Pacific Northwest ($160 during peak times for Coal Creek, $110 for China Creek), but that's a matter of perspective. The only real downside to Newcastle Golf is the consistent horrendous service. The restaurant is touch and go and depends on how busy they are and which member of the wait staff you get. The golf course on the other hand is quite poorly run with respect to service to golfers. For $160 I have high expectations for service, with an organized approach to time management, filled refreshments, functioning water faucets, knowledgeable pro shop employees, etc. Unfortunately they are 1 for 10 with me on those items and many others. That said, the golf course is a great track and if you want to take someone from out of town for a wonderful view and some nice food then this is a good option. I suspect they will eventually get the service thing right, but they have a long way to go.
