Review content:
I went to Polaris because it was near my job and I've been meaning to try them out for the longest time and they offered a $10 mani and a $25 mani/pedi. To be honest, the service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't exactly outstanding either. Here's my experience:
I was a little surprised by how few technicians they had on staff for a Thursday afternoon, maybe 5 people total on the floor and the salon was very dark in my opinion. I definitely got the vibe that they were nicer and more attentive to their regulars than to random walk ins. After waiting 10 minutes for a tech who kept walking around me looking lost (and seeing other regulars getting seated and treated before me), I finally got seated with a tech. My tech spent more of her time looking around the room at other customers and techs than she did to me. On top of that, it was a little wierd not having my cuticles soaked. So the push back and trimming was crappy because my cuticles really weren't soft enough for it to have full effect. So, when I didn't give her an amazing tip she rushed through my paint job. And to top it off, after saying good bye to all the other customers, I was allowed to walk out without any kind of goodbye.
Maybe that seems minor to you but I used to work in retail, greetings and goodbyes can make or break the potential for a repeat customer. My advice...it's worth spending an extra $2 to go to my fave places like Bloomie's/Spa Belles and Dashing Divas. At least they know how to take their time with customers and not make you feel like they'd rather be working on someone else.
But if you just need a quick efficient job and don't care that you feel like you're being rushed...then by all means please go to Polaris.
