Review content:
These negative reviews surprise me. This restaurant is a delight. Obviously, you aren't coming here for the food. (although on my visit, I had a very good steak and an AMAZING dessert.) The restaurant has a old SF history that is charming, not stodgy. The bartenders mix great (and creative!) drinks. Most of all, the service was really exceptional - above and beyond any other SF restaurant I've been to so far. And, of course, the view and the romantic atmosphere can't be matched. So, snobby foodie types should go elsewhere (even though the food is good!), but San Franciscans looking for a great piece of history, a romantic date night, or a perfect place to impress out of town visitors will definitely not be disappointed. Pros: view, service, history Cons: pricey, a little touristy
