Birthplace of "The Star Spangeled Banner", Fort McHenry is a really neat tourist destination for history buffs, classrooms and anyone who wants to take a look back in time to the wars our country fought to get to where it is.
Tours are given of different areas of the Fort. Bunks are set up like they were during the war so you can get an idea of what life was like for the soldiers fighting the war.
Surrounded by cannons with a large flag flying, Fort McHenry has a lot of historical facts and artifacts about the birth of our country, the war we fought to make us free and the writing of the Star Spangeled Banner by Francis Scott Key.
Interesting place to see.
