Review content:
Miracle Hardwoods did our floors in oak last summer. The wood they used was excellent and floors look good if you don't look too closely for flaws. The reason we choose Miracle Hardwoods was based upon cost plus I think small owner-run companies can do a better job than the big stores. For what we got, I'd say it was a good value but not the craftsmanship you might get from someone with more experience. The biggest issue we had was getting the job done in a timely manner. The estimate was 2-3 days to lay the floor and sand it plus a couple more days to put the finish on. In reality it took over 3 weeks! Some days when work was scheduled, no one would show up. Having my calls returned was a problem too. To prepare for the new floor meant we removed our furniture, fridge and stove before they started. Not having a stove or fridge for that long made life a bit difficult and expensive as we were eating out so much. We basically lived in the garage during that time. They scuffed up our front door and other stuff during the install which could have been avoided with a bit of care. Being a small company, they do require some money up front to cover the cost of the wood. Bottom line, if you want an okay looking floor without paying an arm and a leg, I'd recommend them, just be prepared for it to take weeks to complete (and you might have to do some touch up work after they're done.
