I am a licensed Esthetician with 23 years in the industry. A woman looking to be pampered and have my skin cared for by someone who cherishes their career as much as I cherish mine...Star Tresses "esthetician" doesn't meet the standards...in fact falls drastically short!
My Start Tresses Facial experience:
Upon arrival, 10 min. before my scheduled appointment, I was greeted by Hillary and given a tour of the salon/spa areas. She never asked me to fill out a client profile and the consultation was a mere 30 SECONDS. I inquired about the products used ...only to find out SHE MAKES THEM IN HER KITCHEN AT HOME!!! YIKES!!!! SCARRY!!!! I should have exited at that point...but I thought it would get better...no such luck. She started with a quick cleanse and exfoliation THEN did the skin analysis...thought THAT was interesting; analysis AFTER exfoliation....wonder where she went to school for Esthetics. The extractions were very painful- and she actually damaged my skin in doing so! The facial massage was okay~ not very thorough; I've had much better. After the massage she slathered on a mask of some sort, then she LEFT THE ROOM [broke the Carinal Esthetician rule!!] for what seemed like forever!! WHAT Professional Esthetician LEAVES THE ROOM?! I was ready to finish my own facial :( After the 10-20 min. lapsed, Hillary reappeard...I mentioned that I have a difficult time removing my mascara--- she reccommended I use PONDS COLD CREAM!? REALLY???? I DON'T THINK SO!!! And also mentioned that she uses it as well as Johnsons Baby Lotion! HORRIFIC words to my ears!! I'm sorry Hillary, but you do not deserve the title as Esthetician. You give ME and every other Professional Esthetist a bad name.
