Review content:
I've been taking my Honda to Wallace in the southside for years and felt they did great service. I took my car into Wallace on Broad Street to get my state inspection. They told me I had broken motor mounts that needed to be replaced, so they rejected my inspection and gave me a $500 estimate for the work. Specifically, they said that the rubber in the motor mounts looked like it was getting old and starting to crack. I started calling mechanics for estimates. They all said it was very unusual for all of my motor mounts to break and suggested I get a second opinion. Upon taking the car to the dealer where I bought the car, I learned that a car cannot get rejected for state inspection because of cracked rubber in the motor mounts; it can only get rejected if the metal is actually broken. My metal is not broken. Moreover, if metal on all 3 motor mounts was broken, the engine would likely fall on the ground. When I took the car to a different mechanic, the mechanic showed me one of my motor mounts and it was clear to me that the visible parts were not cracked. I went back to Wallace to tell them about the inspection and about the in-tact motor mounts. When I walked in the door, Wallace was in the process of rejecting another customer for the exact same "problem." I told her about the issue and hope that she does not fall prey to Wallace. I'm very disappointed with Wallace and regret that they got my $16 state inspection fee for what I believe amounted to lying to me.
