Review content:
I had won a 10 pack of tickets to see the premiere of the new movie Holiday. I went last night and took my friend and my daughters 7 friends to the Summit 10 movie theatre in Birmingham. I now know why I do not go to the movie theatres and wait for the movie on DVD. We had to be at the movie early to get our place in line so there was no time for dinner, we all decided to eat a popcorn and cokes as our dinner. I was shocked and amazed at the cost of two cokes and a popcorn !!!! $11.00 for two cokes and a bag of popcorn that contained about $1.00 worth of popcorn. The movie theatre was nice but too warm inside and the cost of snack foods and popcorn was totally unacceptable. I know that the cost has gone up through the years but come on, I work at a concession stand at a venue in town and we only charge $4.00 for a huge tub of popcorn. I am glad that the tickets were free. How can we all stand up as a country and make the theatres lower the price of foods at the theatres? No wonder the theatres are a dying business in our day. I guess the average teenager needs about $100.00 for a date of dinner and a movie.
