I had a horrible day, things went real bad at school, it was flipping hot, and I wasn't in the mood to cook. I called home and told my husband to meet me at Cheddars. When he got there, I was already sipping on a Pain Killer (there is a 2 limit on these babies . He ordered his drink and we ordered dinner while I spilled the details of what I thought was a horrible day. When dinner came, I realized, I was relaxed. (Don't think the pain killer had anything to do with it???) I started eating my chicken and he ate his steak and shrimp platter. Their sandwiches are huge, and most people can't eat it. I've seem 2 girls split 1 sandwich. The dinners, such as the steak and shrimp, are good if you like that thing. My husband says the steak is tender, and the shrimp is done just right. I did try the red beans and rice, that definitely is not on the money compared to New Orleans, but maybe that isn't what they are after. They have a great variety, a kids menu, vegetable plate, and soups. The hamburgers are very good, but you have to order the french fries seperately. That surprised me. The restaurant has a beautiful fan in the middle of the room that is pretty much for show, not for purpose. There are a ton of plants around the rooms in huge pots (I would hate to have water them. The place is clean, and the servers are pretty nice in general. I have had a soggy potpie once, and a few little things that were wrong, that is why I am not giving it 5 stars. Other wise, it is a real good family restaurant. I like going on the weekdays, because the weekend is a zoo.
