I just have to tell you this. I was at one of the Walmart stores today and one of the employees told me that her supervisor told her that where Lay Away used to be .. they are going to set up where you can purchase items ONLINE and have it sent to your LOCAL STORE which will save you on shipping .. FREE SHIPPING in other words. She said that Layaway is "no more" due to so many people coming in and putting down $50.00 on a $3,000 layaway and never come back for it. It was costing them money and was NOT a money maker for them at all. She was a "satisfied" employee.
