Everyone that lives in Manitowoc/Two Rivers has been to Schroeder's Department Store. It's a requirement for living on the Lakeshore.
Honestly, most of us first came here as children, back in the days before mega box stores flooded the area. If you needed school shoes, a winter jacket, or a wedding gift, you came to Schroeders.
This store had been around since 1891 and is still a destination for many.
Some might favor the grand selection at the super huge malls, but nowhere are you going to get the attention and service that you would here.
Let me give you an example. My sister bought a moderately priced purse from this store and the bag started to fall apart within months. She's serving in the Peace Corps half way around the world and need to have a bag that is sturdy - without defects. Calls to the manufacturer produced NOTHING! They didn't care. But Schroeders did!
They returned my phone call within MINUTES and I spoke to a very delightful manager named AJ who took care of all of our problems. She was so great! Not only would they replace the bag, but she took all the information down so they would be ready for my sister when she comes to visit at Christmas. How cool is that?
When was the last time someone took care of EVERYTHING for you? It's been so long for most of us that it would make our heads hurt to recall.
So, next time you are in Two Rivers, WI, either passing through on your way to Door County or heading to a Packer game, make Two Rivers one of your stops and make sure you visit the fine folks at the store. It really is like going back into time. Customer Service truly is #1.
