How hasn’t heard of this company? You know them…..they've been around since the 1930s and are the ones that send out catalogues every year around this time (I actually got mine a few weeks ago) with the cute little mouse telling you that you have so much credit with them this year, and if you order you’ll get a free box of their chocolate truffles. (Which are so yummy, by the way.) But did you also know that this company owns several other catalogues? Not only do they sell cheese (their main business that started the whole company), chocolate, and petit fours (among lots of other things), they also have catalogues to sell clothing, jewelry (not expensive, mind you), and other little knick knacks. They have a bunch of catalogues, which I’ve perused before, but I can’t remember all the titles. At any rate, I used to work at a production company and we produced a 90-second video for them which aired on United Airlines last month (anyone fly United and see it?). I spoke with John Bauman the president of the company (he’s the one in the video) and everyone I spoke to was super nice. If anyone has the opportunity to go to WI go check out the facilities. It’s a large corporation, but started out as a small family business and still has that small family feel to it – there are several families that have worked generations for this company. I’m not sure if this will work, but here’s the http://www.cmntv2.com/videos/swisscolony.htm to the video that aired on United last month. I’m not sure if I’ll order from them this year, but seriously, after watching the video you’re going to want what they show – it looks so good! Oh, and if you plan on ordering anything from them it comes carefully packed in sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes and if you have several boxes they’ll come plastic wrapped together. I’ve never had a bad experience with them so far – I live in South Florida and when I order the chocolate it isn’t even melted. Don’t know how they manage that because it doesn’t come with any ice.
