Review content:
This is my second visit at Dmitris (the 22nd & Pine location). I've been wanting to go to Melograno, but the wait is always so long! This location is a larger space with a bar so don't bring your own. The nice thing though is there is space between your table and your neighbors, which is often not the case in the smaller more quaint restaurants of Philly. We went with some friends and decided to order the Mediterranean Platter to share as a starter. It came with a generous serving of grilled pita bread, hummus, tzatziki, an eggplant spread, beets and some other Greek spread. This is a great starter with friends because the pita bread is hot and the spread is just so delicious to dip into. One of our friends ordered a Greek salad which was refreshing and a very simple salad that can be served at home with cucumbers, onions, olives, feta cheese and tomatoes. For our entrées, we had their spicy shrimp platter, the breaded flounder and the fried calamari. The portions were generous and food was rightly seasoned. However the seafood just lacked the freshness that you would get on the west coast. I would go back with friends again because of the comfortable atmosphere, and the food is pretty good compared to other restaurants that I've been to in the city.
