I can't bring myself to get my kids' hair cut at the place where I get mine done. Their cuts would cost $20 apiece. Yowsa.
Luckily a new salon chain called Great Clips opened up near our house. This store is very clean and brightly lit. The price is reasonable - $10 for a kids cut - and so far I have not had to wait for more than 10-15 minutes. Each time we have been here the stylists are friendly, and they work pretty quickly. That alone is a big bonus for those of us that have small children that can't sit still for long periods of time! When I announce that we're going to get haircuts I don't hear any of the moaning and groaning I used to hear. In fact, my children always look forward to going, especially because they get a lollipop once they are done.
I have 2 cons that need mentioned - although I hate to say them since they are a little picky. #1 It is great that they have some smallish toys for children to play with while they wait, but there selection is very small and if there are other children waiting also, there really aren't many toys to go around. #2 Like many other moms, I like to be deal savvy, and I just haven't seen very many coupons for a discounted hair cut. That is a little disappointing.
