Review content:
I recently went to this JC Penny's to order some made-to-measure blinds during one of their big sales. I had already priced them online, and knew exactly what I wanted. However, since this was my first time buying blinds, I wanted to make sure that I understood all of the options, etc., and thought that a salesperson could help me.
Boy was I wrong! The older, blond-haired woman in their window treatment department (didn't catch her name) was rude to me from the get-go. I had already told her my window measurements once when she snapped, "well, do you know what size your windows are?"--she had either not been listening or had forgotten to write them down the first time.
She first claimed they did not have the blinds I was interested in, and then said I'd have to go to the catalog department to order them. I asked if we could look them up on the online JC Penny site, so I could show her exactly what I was talking about, and she said they didn't have a computer online, despite the fact that I was looking at one right behind her.
It ended with me telling her, politely, that she'd been very unhelpful and rude, and that I'd be buying my blinds elsewhere. She simply said "fine" and huffed away.
On one other occassion, I had a problem with a JC Penny salesperson at Bellevue Square who was pressuring me so intensely to get one of their credit cards that another customer intervened to stop it.
JC Penny's is great for inexpensive, quirky kids clothes--I've always liked the Okie Dokie line--but that's about it.
