Businiess name:  Knight's Inn
Review by:  Joni F.
Review content:
The Knight's Inn on Leibrandt in Santa Cruz has GREAT management. The management couple was friendly and helpful. They even gave me a bottle for milk for my baby so that I wouldn't have to run to the store. Very sweet. With that being said, it's unfortunately about the only compliment I have for the place. I realize that Santa Cruz is old and now I realize that you can equate that with rundown which is what the Knight's Inn is. You can't just slap a fresh coat of paint on the facade and call it good. The price was decent for the area with my two nights costing me $135 but that, too, was not enought to make up forall the negative. The interior smelled musty. Again, I realize the beach is right there but has anyone ever heard of air freshener or other means to try and rid the place of that smell. The walls were peeling and there were many areas of mildew and mold. The window air conditioning unit didn't have a long enough cord to reach the outlet so I actually had to go and ask for an extension cord. The bed was rock hard and the pillows were mere wafers. Not at all comfortable. The darkest part of my sleep was at 6 am each of the two days I was there since the curtains offered minimal protection from the outside lights and there was a ribbon of light entering the room from the perimeter of the door. It was at 6 am that the outside lights were finally shut off. I'm not a daytime sleeper so this made it difficult to sleep. Next time, I'll try the Hilton.
