The Beacon Theatre is a waste of time and money. As another reviewer mentioned, the screens are too small and the sound is subpar. This is unacceptable for action flicks especially. So go there for kids movies, comedies, drama and romances? Absolutely not. As if the physical problems with the theater were not enough, the entire environment is awful due to being plagued with underage viewers indscriminantly let in by the staff. Such events such as cell phones ringing and full conversations being carried on DURING the MOVIE to yelling, items being thrown, and wanton disregard for the viewing experience of others have all occurred to my personally. Why have I been there enough times to go through all of that? 2 reasons: the first is that several of those happened all at once, and the other is that there's simply nowhere else to go. And don't think that the management has not been alerted. I can personally attest to lodging a complaint of my own in addition to several friends and coworkers of mine. The responses seem to stick within 3 options - 1) no reaction at all or complete apathy 2) saying that there's nothing that can be done or 3) the most ludicrious of the pathetic bunch - an offer for coupons to see more movies there, but never a refund. So watch a movie at home or get ready for chaotic teen scene at the Beacon.
