I've been shopping for a new hair place. I tried Phase 3 last week and I will definitely be back. Though this is a "training ground" for cosmetologists who want to work next door at the SUPER pricey Gary Manuel Aveda Salon, it is staffed by licesened professionals in their first year of Gary Manuel's program. So these are NOT students - they do have their licenses; the difference is they are just starting out and thus can't command the high prices that they do next door.
I had my hair cut by Charles, who was great. He really listened to what I wanted to do, and then he did it - flawlessly. He explained how to use each of the products he used in my hair and he gave me an awesome scalp massage. Ahhh! They use Aveda prodects, of course - and nothing smells better than Aveda!
The only thing to note is to allow enough time - the cuts do take a little longer than you might expect, but the salon and the experience are so pleasant that it really didn't matter to me.
