Businiess name:  Shamiana Restaurant
Review by:  Carolyn K.
Review content:
Shamiana's is one of those places you love to visit and re-visit. The proprieters and staff are friendly as can be and never once have I had a hurried meal there. I've had to wait almost an hour for friends delayed by work and traffic before and they insisted I be seated instead of waiting in the lobby. They serve a fragrant pullau (rice dish) which is deeply colored by tumeric and flavored by cardamon, topped by crispy, well browned, caramelized shavings of shallot. I enjoy the Pakistani grills and the Biryani is also very flavorful. The Naan is cooked to order, always comes out hot and fluffy and a favorite of mine is the garlic Naan. I dine with a vegetarian friend and he enjoys this restaurant greatly. Vegans will find the menu friendly as well as Shamiana's will state which items are "non-dairy" on their menu and buffet. The owners lived in Pakistan and this is their interpretation of the cuisine. Save a little space for their wonderful Ginger Creme Brullee. Dishes range from $12.95 for Vegetarian to $18.95 for lamb. Not your everyday dinner, but your "nice Restaurant" dining event.
