Review content:
I love this place--their selection, their quality, and their friendly, knowledgeable staff. I walked out with only the items I wanted & needed. I feel that the Treads staff are warm and personable, and genuinely wanted to get me properly outfitted (I walked in wanting to get new inner tubes & goo for my tires, as well as safety lights, hydration pack--the only things I really had were my bike & helmet).
And lo and behold! My tires were fixed while I waited, the awesome mechanic answered some of my questions about shifting. Also while I waited, I moseyed around the store, where other helpful employees answered my questions.
I tried Treads because I was dissatisfied with how I've been treated at another shop in town. At least in my several visits to this other nameless shop (one out of dozens of bike shops throughout the Denver/Metro area), they seem to shun regular people who just want to ride bikes--as opposed to the lycra-clad, leg-shaving set. Silly me, I thought any bicycle shop would want my business. Apparently not.
A bicycle-loving friend told me about Treads, after I related to him my tale of woe of that other shop not wanting my business.
I plan to head back to Treads very soon. Not that I intend to have a Canyonero-like bike or anything [silly Simpson's allusion], but they have lots of helpful gear at reasonable prices. I also know where I will take my bike if I need anything fixed on it.
