Businiess name:  Roe Orchards
Review by:  Pat B.
Review content:
Roe Orchards is one of the best kept secrets in Orange County. Open from August to February, it is tucked off busy Route 94 in Chester, NY. Drive by too fast and you'll literally pass it. Located in what seems like the middle of a field, the road side building is usually bustling with activity. This is THE place to get just picked corn, fruit and vegetables. The corn at Roe Orchards was simply the best we ate this summer--picked the same day I purchased it and prepared it for dinner. Requiring nothing more than a few minutes in boiling water, the corn didn't need butter to make it scrumptious. Roe specializes in apples and the early fall apples have been superb--Paula Reds and Macintosh apples are crisp and juicy and made for wonderful eating. Come on the weekends and you can even buy home made pies and donuts--the apple crumb pie was devoured in less than two days in my house! Juicy ripe peaches, sugar sweet melons, ruby red tomatoes and a host of other veggies, make this farm popular among locals. Pick up a jar of the Orchards own honey for a wonderful taste treat. Open seven days a week.
