Businiess name:  Harrisville Craft show
Review by:  Cathy S.
Review content:
If you're lookiing for something to do on Labor Day weekend in MI, Harrisville is the place to go. Here, for 32 years, the city councel has hosted one of the largest arts and crafts shows in MI (and the biggest held on this weekend). Held in a tiny town on the sunrise side of MI, bordering beautiful Lake Huron, Harrisville swells in size to 5000 or more. Here you will find shopper's paradise at the show which boasts over 600 crafters. As a long time fiber artist, I've been selling here for 29 years and consider this to be consistantly my best show of the year. Although show hours are 9 to 6, shoppers are out here as early as 7:30-8am, with money in hand. Situated on two large park-like areas on the corner of M72 and M23, the show is divided into "country arts" and "fine arts". On Sunday there's a parade complete with bands, clowns, and the best floats around. For this they close down M23, the main highway to the north along Lake Huron. This show is the result of a meeting of Sweet Adelines and Barbershoppers getting together for a Harmony Weekend, thus earning the name. Today they still meet for contests and awards outdoors on the grandstand, treating visitors with their wonderful harmonizing. The show is Sat. and Sunday only, leaving the Monday holiday free. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrisville,_Michigan http://www.michiganbackroads.com/Towns/harrisville.htm http://www.barbershop.org/web/groups/public/documents/pages/pub_id_063904.hcsp http://www.sweetadelineintl.org/
