Review content:
I love, just LOVE Farmer's Markets with all the fresh produce in the outdoor air, waiting to be perused to take home in my basket. In all five Michigan cities I've lived, going to the Farmer's Market has been a seasonal treat. Now my present home town of Traverse City has a farmer's market that I detest attending. The sidewalk is no bigger than one "lane", like on a neighborhood street. Zillions of people come out to shop, all crowded on the uneven narrow sidewalk, shoving and pushing to see the beautiful produce and homemade wares. The parking lot can barely hold the number of visitors so if you don't go early, expect to circle awhile until someone leaves. There's also no cover so you better pray it doesn't rain or come prepared. Ok, so I'm spoiled maybe? But why can't Traverse City take a cue from Midland's Farmer's Market where I last lived. It's such a dream to shop under covered roof, circle wide walkway and very short distance to ample parking. Sigh...I think I'll drive to Midland tomorrow. I can smell the peaches calling to me. (or is it the Peaches and Cream corn?)
