The Chattanooga Aquarium is really impressive. It's a great place to take both kids and adults. We have taken our daughter there as well as my Grandparents. The design of the aquarium is really neat. Upon entering you first go downstairs to view the sea horse gallery (which is really cool) and then take an escalator to the very top of the building and work your way down in a zig zag fashion. There are huge tanks on both side of you, as well as off shoots on both side that have different displays. The original building, now called River Journey features fresh water fish. The new building, called Ocean Journey features saltwater fish as well as a butterfly garden. The two buildings are side by side, but not connected, so you do have to stop outside to get into the second building. The second building also has tunnels which you walk through, and can see the fish swimming around you. If you are in Chattanooga for a few days, look into combination tickets for the Aquarium, I Max theater and Creative Discovery Museum, as you can purchase them at a discount.
