We recently stayed at the Best Western hotel in Lancaster, CA- Don't ever do that! I must say to start off with that the place was clean. The daily complementary breakfast was very good also. They had fresh fruit sliced up every morning with bacon sausage, biscuits and gravy, seasoned fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, two choices of cereal, and danishes and pastries that varied from day to day. Five stars on the breakfast! We had even stayed there a few months before for a night, and had no problems. However, the list of grievances with this visit is. We were staying with a group and had three rooms total. First of all, the hallway didn't get vacuumed for three days. How do I know? The same piece of toilet paper was in the same spot along with very visible dirt and dust. One of our travel companions asked for a new because the lamp wasn't working. Two days later, upon pushing the issue, the maid helped them find that the lamp wasn't plugged into the outlet, which no one could see because it was behind the bed. On day three, no one go wash rags in their rooms at all, even though the other towels were in place. One persons electronic key wouldn't work, neither did the maids, so he was locked out for an hour. We asked for an iron, and an hour later, had to ask again, but it was too late to use it because we had to go. We asked them to turn on our air an hour before we got back, which they offered to do, and it wasn't done. The next day we left the air on, but they turned it off. And worst of all, one of our friends asked for the sheets to be changed because of a spot that got on it, and when they came back, the bed was made, but the sheets had not been changed- that's bad. To be fair, the hotel chain is not the most expensive- I know, but I do expect better things from it. I'm sure everyone's visit isn't as bad, but this was a very bad visit.
