Review content:
when we adopted a cat from this humane society we expected an animal that was vet checked and healthy. After taking the cat to the vet within the 72 hrs , we found out it had several problems. One being a dislocated hip and broken leg! The vet was able to find this problem as an injury over a month old possibly from being hit by a car. Surgery could be $300 for a cat I've had three days! In that three days I had already bought worm ,ear mite and pain medicine! When I went to talk to the humane society [At first they they didn't want to talk to me] but I came back and was told basically that it was not their responsibility and the cat looked fine in their care [just limped]. I asked why their vet had not seen the problems this cat had. They told me they didnt have time to look at every cat! They said as a pet owner you should expect vet bills. No I didnt expect to get a sick cat !!! After two weeks of the cat not being able to walk and in pain they called to say they would pay half "even if the cat hurt itself playing" and that the mouth infection was treated and all gone. No the vet had done nothing to its mouth! I went in to talk to their vet to ask questions like how old is the cat , what is its over all health like, what will it be like after the surgery but I have yet to meet "their vet" ! What upsets me is that the humane society doesnt want to admit they let a cat be adopted that had a broken leg and dislocated hip that needs surgery . They want to say the cat hurt it in my care when the vet could tell the injury was over a month old. They have offered to pay half for surgery but I dont know what kind of health the cat will have in the future, plus its an outside cat when they told me it was an inside one. It sits by the door meowing and trying to get out all day. The whole attitude of the director was not one of helping and caring but more of denying the cat was hurt when in their care . They act friendly if you adopt but if something goes wrong they will not be quick to admit it or fix it.
