If you came to my hometown of Palmetto, Florida, I would have to show you an Historical site known as the Gamble Plantation. It's a beautiful mansion on about 3-4 acres of land, surrounded by beautiful foliage around the property. As the story has it ( before people started to arrive here) The mansions owner could see all the way to the ocean ( which was about 5 miles away ). So if anyone would come to attack he would see them comming and have enough time to gather his militia and bring on an attack. Still to this day the Mansion still has the Original furniture inside with original artwork as well as the original sheets upon the beds. Further back upon the property you will find yourself on the training ground for they military. Intact are their original cannons and balls. There are other pieces of war artifacts still on the ground , but i can not remember the names of them. If you're not in the mood to look at the history but in the mood for love, then you can also set up to have your wedding here at the plantation as well as a horse drawn carriage bringing you to the gazebo at the front of the property. Also for a little bit more on your budget they will have their associates wear attire drawn to the year the plantation was still up and running for your wedding as well. Also every now and then they hold special re-enactments on the grounds to show what was happening back in that time period of around the 1800's to 1890 before another person took over and then was later sold to the county when the owner passed away. A great place to see and a lot to learn in just one place. Come check it out!
