Way back in the 1970's I worked at American Medical Health Supply off Chene Street and Hendrie. Right off of I-94. The Medical supply has long ago vanished but the gas station is still there (under the above new name) but regardless I can't forget what happened after work on that very snowy day. I was still a teenager and before I was to go on the freeway to go home, I decided to load up my gas tank. Well, the roads were slippery and wet and When I entered the station my car slid into the Gas Pump Tank. I was not going very fast but when I backed away from the pump the front panel of it had crumbled. I remember being terrified of what I had done and I went into the station to report the incident. I was in tears, big tears! Well the guy came out to Look and just laughed. When I asked what I owed for the damage - Unfortunately this is a bad area of Detroit and I go nowhere near there now. he just stated "Nothing!" This place became one of my favorite spots to stop at back than.
