You know how it seems we're always saying, "I wish we would have had those when we were little"? Here is another example of how things improve with time!!! Andrews Park, in Norman, has sooo many fun attractions for everyone! Located right across the street from the police station, it is a quiet, safe area to enjoy some fun, quality time with the family! My kids and I have been visiting almost on a daily basis recently. Since my youngest son started homeschooling, I know it is good for him to get outdoors and have some fun, so this works out really well. The main reason the kids love to visit Andrews Park is because of their awesome Splash Pad!!! This is a section where, on those ninety plus degree weather days, you can cool off, with some great, free, water play! They have a variety of water cannons, sprinklers, tipping buckets full of water and more! On a weekend day, you will see this area completely full of toddlers, children and adults, splashing around, having a blast! And... I know I mentioned it, but this is worth pointing out again... it is free!!! Andrews Park also offers several different playgrounds to choose from. I love it, because there are options for the youngest of children on up, and it keeps the kids spread out, so no one place is too crowded, even on the busiest of days. My oldest son has his favorite section as well... the skate park! Andrews Park has a section devoted to the extreme sports fans! They offer half pipes and ramps for the kids to ride their skateboards or bikes and practice their skills. A favorite for children and adults alike is the concert area, where all throughout the summer months, the family can bring their chairs, blankets and sunscreen, to enjoy a free weekly concert! They feature lots of local bands, and some great family focused entertainment! With all of this offered at one place, there is no reason to sit home this summer!
