I suppose I am slightly biased, having lived in Boston only when I was a poor college student. La Familia's was the first restaurant I ate at in the North End and it was so cheap and so good. I've eaten at other places, but this is the one that I always come back to. I remember going there on a date once, and sharing a plate of lasagna - both of us ate until we were stuffed and there was a large piece left over. Another time I went there with a group of friends at the end of the lunch service. It was obvious when the dinner hour started - the lights dimmed and the rock music on the radio changed abruptly to a lovely rendition of "That's Amore." I never fail to be reminded of that experience when I hear the song. I'm getting hungry (and nostalgic) just thinking about it!
