Review content:
The Carolina Theater usually shows smaller or independent features and hosts the occasional festival (such as the North Carolina gay and Lesbian film Festival), so if you like films that are et a bit off from the mainstream, this is a destination for you. The City of Durham put a lot into this theater, and it shows. Carolina Theater is a great place to see a movie. The two upstairs theaters (one smaller, one medium sized) are nice, but the best of the three screens is downstairs, in a room that doubles as an actual stage theater, so it's like seeing a film in a theater from some bygone time. You can also order beer or wine (or even read the famous popcorn instructions) at the snack bar.
